ORIANTHI IN NEW YORK CITY AT THE IRIDIUM!!

Orianthi will be bringing her dynamic guitar playing chops to the legendary Iridium Jazz Club in Times Square/New York City on November 13th-15th.
Here’s a few facts about this mega-talented woman:
Orianthi was born in Adelaide, Australia; but her family is actually of Greek heritage. She started playing guitar at the age of 6 and the piano at the age of 3. At the age 11 her father took her to see Carlos Santana and it was at that moment she realized that she wanted to be a professional guitarist and begged her parents for an electric Paul Reed Smith guitar, the brand Santana plays, “so she could be just like Carlos.”
Orianthi studied Santana films nonstop and wound up sending an audition tape to Carlos himself. With Santana’s help, Orianthi was invited to appear at the 2004 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Convention. Two years later after being seen at the convention in 2006, Geffen Records offered her a major deal.
After seeing Orianthi perform in 2009, Michael Jackson reached out to Orianthi and signed her on to be his lead guitarist for his THIS IS IT concert tour. Michael passed away before the tour began, however, and Orianthi never realized the dream of touring with Jackson. In Fall of 2009, Orianthi released her label debut album “ACCORDING TO YOU.”
She was asked to play with Alice Copper and was the lead guitarist for Alice Cooper’s band from 2011-2014. Orianthi continuously ranks in the top 20 female guitarists of all time and has worked alongside the following artists during her career: Steve Vai, Michael Jackson, Carlos Santana, Michael Bolton, Prince, ZZ Top, Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood, John Mayer, Dave Stewart, Dave Navarro and Richie Sambora.
Orianthi has performed at the Grammy Awards, Country Music Awards and at the Kennedy Center honoring inductee Carlos Santana.
